Have You Ever Been A People Pleaser?

I’ll admit I’ve done it in the past , try and become successful just to prove to people you can become successful and believe that this will make people respect you more and make more friends. The thing is , who cares. Becoming successful isn’t about approval from others.

It’s all about proving to yourself that you can turn your dreams into a reality , don’t treat things like a competition because again I’ve made that mistake. My older brother has always been better and smarter than me which is fine obviously.

The thing i used to do is tell him every time something went well i used to message him to try impress him. Always trying to build things trying to compare to him but that’s idiotic , he’s not got epilepsy so he doesn’t understand anything i talk about , He owns his own business as a photographer and works for another company just about to set up his own in a different area away from Photography.

Now i realise trying to be better than him is stupid , we all have our own strengths and weaknesses , I know a lot about epilepsy due to suffering with it myself obviously , i know nothing about photography. The thing i now focus on is proving to myself i can reach the top and hopefully do really well for myself and i know he’s good at what he does.

So i stopped trying to please him and get his approval because the only opinion that should matter is my own. Focus on your own journey and never stop trying to become the best version of yourself. Success takes time but only if you stay in your own lane looking forwards not sideways watching someone else.
