Honestly the way I just get through the day is literally the most basic of things. It’s as simple as what is called “Self-enhancing humour” which being able to laugh at yourself and make jokes out of a bad situation that has happened in your life. I just try and find humour in everyday situations. I believe making yourself the target in the joke isn’t a problem because the only one getting offended is actually yourself.
I believe yes, I’ve been through a decent amount of problems but the reason I just joke about it is because there’s no time to sit and cry about your problems. Yes I’ll tell you the truth I lost my Little sister aged 11 in 2010 and obviously a terrible thing to go through but….This doesn’t stop m making jokes about how crazy she was.
One of the biggest seizures I had was falling face first into concrete fracturing my right cheekbone, Do I joke about it……Answer is yes I do all the time. It kinda proves how much I joke about it. Less than 5 minutes after it happened and when I’m sat in the back of the ambulance I’m taking a selfie and posting on Facebook with the caption “How beautiful Do I Look, Yes I’ve Made A Real Improvement to my face” I just joked about how I look like a model now.
Making fun of yourself is probably one of the best things to do, because it’s absolutely impossible to offend anyone because your directing everything your saying towards yourself. If it offends someone then they need to grow a sense of humour. I mean come on I get my own mates to make fun of me. I got them to nickname me milkshake because how pale my skin is and obviously with epilepsy shake is a key part. So making fun of something that is actually serious is the best way to go about things because then your never faced with feeling down or being in a bad mood because you’ve used up all the insults already for someone to try bully you.
